L’ultima volta che abbiamo assistito ad un loro concerto live su un palco americano è stato nel 1977. La prossima settimana i Led Zeppelin saranno in America, non per suonare, ma per promuovere il film ‘Celebration Day’, un documentario tratto dal concerto di Londra del dicembre 2007, l’unica reunion dello storico gruppo organizzata in memoria del fondatore dell’Atlantic Records, Ahsmert Ertegun.

Il ritorno sul palco del gruppo è stato definito come uno dei momenti più emozionanti della storia del genere rock, e sarà proiettato nelle sale cinematografiche di tutto il mondo, per un giorno soltanto. In Italia sarà possibile vederlo in ben 150 sale cinematografiche sparse per il Paese.

I componenti del gruppo saranno presenti alla prima proiezione a Londra il 12 ottobre, all’Hammersmith Apollo, a Berlino il 15 e a Tokyo il 16 ottobre. Per tutti gli altri Paesi occorrerà aspettare il 17 ottobre, giornata del grande evento.

Ricorderete tutti, o quasi, che il gruppo decise di interrompere la sua attività artistica e musicale, iniziata tra l’altro nel lontano 1968, come conseguenza alla morte improvvisa del batterista John Bonham, avvenuta nel 1980. Bonham era stato trovato senza vita nella sua stanza, soffocato dal proprio vomito dopo una giornata trascorsa a bere alcolici. Ovviamente gli altri tre componenti del gruppo decisero così di porre fine al capitolo musicale Led Zeppelin.
